Going abroad with a translated website and waiting for Google to do the rest is the most expensive way to internationalise. Demand does not translate: France searches with other words, Mexico buys differently from Spain, and in Germany the competitor that matters is not the same.
International SEO combines three jobs. The technical one decides whether each market goes on a domain, a subdomain or a folder, and how Google is told which version to show to whom. The demand one researches searches in every language with native speakers. And the authority one earns links and mentions from media in each country. Failing at one cancels the other two.
This comparison lists Spanish agencies with an international SEO service checked on their own website. Nobody pays to appear. The list is ordered by specialisation, track record and publicly verifiable information.
How we built this ranking
These are the criteria we used to order the list. They are just as useful if you decide not to work with any of these agencies: they are the questions worth asking in any sales meeting.
- Structure decided with arguments. Domain per country, subdomain or folder is not the agency's preference: it depends on the authority you already have, the budget per market and whether local teams will maintain their own content.
- Hreflang and canonicals without errors. The most common technical failure on multilingual websites. A broken hreflang makes Google show the Spanish version in Mexico, or two languages cannibalise each other.
- Native keyword research. Keywords researched in each market by someone who speaks the language, not translated from the original study. Volume, intent and competitor all change.
- Authority in every country. Links from Spanish media help little to rank in Italy. You need a link and mention plan per market.
- Reporting per market. Reports per country and language, with different goals for each. A global average hides the market that is not working.

No.1 iSocialWeb
At iSocialWeb we run projects in several countries with one team and separate reporting per market: Boboli in six countries, and Panama Jack and OCA Global in three. We start with the decision that conditions everything else, the domain or folder structure, and make it with each market's authority, demand and budget.
We research each country's demand separately and work on authority with media from that country, not only Spanish ones. We are an AI-first agency: we handle catalogues and content in several languages at scale, with human review before anything is published.
And we measure visibility in each market's AI assistants with our GEO methodology, because ChatGPT does not recommend the same brands when asked in French as in Spanish. More on our international SEO agency page.
What sets us apart:
- Structure per market. Domains, subdomains or folders decided with data, and migrations between them without losing traffic.
- Hreflang and language versions. Implementation and ongoing monitoring of hreflang, canonicals and language redirects, which break with every release.
- Demand researched in every country. Keywords, intent and competitors of each market, not a translation of the original study.
- Local links and mentions. An authority plan with media from each country, measured like the home market.
- GEO per language. Tracking which brands AI assistants recommend in each market and which sources they cite.
- Report per market. Sales, leads and visibility per country in one dashboard.

What changes when a website leaves Spain
The first change is competition. You can lead your category in Spain and not even appear on the second page in France, because there the competitor is a local brand with ten years of links. Each market is a project with its own starting point, not an extension of the home one.
The second is technical. Multilingual websites pile up silent errors: hreflang pointing to redirected pages, versions cannibalising each other, language selectors Google cannot crawl or IP redirects that hide whole versions from the search engine. None shows a visible error, and all of them cost traffic.
The third is language, which goes beyond translation. Spanish in Mexico, Argentina and Spain searches with different words, and a catalogue translated with the wrong terms does not rank even if it reads well. Keyword research is done in each market.
And the fourth comes with AI. Assistants answer in the user's language and lean on sources from their country. A brand cited in Spanish answers may not exist for ChatGPT in German. Measuring per market is the only way to know.
Signs your international SEO has a problem
- Google shows your Spanish version to users in another country.
- Language versions share traffic instead of adding it up.
- Your keywords in other languages are translations of the original study.
- All your links come from Spanish media although you sell in five countries.
- Your report gives a global average and you do not know which market is failing.
- You do not know whether AI assistants recommend you outside Spain.
How much international SEO costs
What an SEO agency charges each month depends on the hours your project needs, not on the city. These are our 2026 rates, the same ones the calculator uses:
| Plan | Monthly fee | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Local or small project | €1,050 – €1,250 | 12–15 h a month |
| Standard | €1,350 – €1,600 | 18–20 h a month |
| Full SEO and GEO | €1,750 – €2,200 | 22–25 h a month |
| International | from €2,200 | more than 25 h a month |
No lock-in contract. Link management and paid ads are quoted separately.
Frequently asked questions about international SEO agencies in Spain
-
One that decides the domain or folder structure with data, researches demand in each language with native speakers and earns authority from media in each country. In this ranking iSocialWeb leads, running Boboli in six countries and Panama Jack and OCA Global in three; Human Level and SEOCOM have international processes with native teams, and Estudio34 publishes reports per country.
-
Folders add up the authority of a single domain and are the most efficient way to start. A domain per country sends a stronger local signal, but each one starts from zero. Subdomains sit in between and are rarely the best option. The decision depends on your authority, the budget per market and whether local teams will maintain content.
-
No. Translation keeps the terms of the original study, while each market's real demand uses other words, other intent and other competitors. You need keyword research in every language and localised content, not just translation.
-
It is the tag that tells Google which language or country version belongs to each user. It breaks because it must be reciprocal across all versions, point to canonical URLs that respond and be maintained with every change to the website. A release that changes one URL can break it without anyone noticing.
So what now?
If you sell, or want to sell, outside Spain and your website does not perform the same in every market, there is room to grow. Ask us for a pre-audit: we review structure, hreflang and demand per country and tell you which market to tackle first.
No lock-in contract, with separate reports per market.
